Klein Bros Fire Roasted Texas Chili - The Native Texan

Klein Bros Fire Roasted Texas Chili

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2.5 lbs lean ground venison (or beef if that’s your thing)

  • 1 (16 oz) jar Klein Bros. Fire Roasted Salsa

  • 1 (14 oz) can beef broth

  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce

  • ½ cup Heinz ketchup

  • 1 ½ to 2 Tbsp chili powder (go bold or go home)

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • 8 oz Shiner Bock beer

  • 1 (16 oz) can pinto beans, with juice

Optional for Serving:

  • Cooked white rice

  • Hot cornbread with butter

  • Fritos + shredded cheddar for a good ol’ Texas Frito Pie

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Brown the Meat — In a big skillet or stockpot, brown your venison (or beef) over medium heat. Drain off the fat so all you’re left with is pure flavor.

  2. Build the Base — Stir in the Klein Bros. Fire Roasted Salsa, beef broth, tomato sauce, ketchup, chili powder, paprika, and that cold Shiner Bock.

  3. Add the Beans — Pour in the pinto beans, juice and all, because that’s where the magic is. Stir it all together.

  4. Simmer & Blend — Let the chili simmer on medium heat for about 30 minutes, stirring now and then so the flavors get good and cozy.

  5. Serve It Up — Dish it over rice, serve it with cornbread, or go full Texas-style with Fritos and cheddar cheese on top.
